Matakana Country Park

During Level Three Lockdown we found by chance and some digging, this location that offers power, toilets, showers, Water and is pet friendly. On site there is a restaurant, Cafe, Gift shop, Ninja Action Park, Bike Hire, kids playground, Pony rides and Fitness Centre.

There is 9 Caravan/Motorhome site on gravel that enjoy a view of horses in stables and paddocks with a backdrop of a Vineyard on the hill in the distance. Thank you to Tim and Ali, John and Ben, Shaz and Dan, Maddie, Kim, Paul and Jamie. Ninja’s Peter for making it an enjoyable lockdown of 9 weeks.

At the time of writing the Matakana Country Market was returning after an absence of a few years. Already 50+ stall owners will attend this Sunday Market.

The Matakana Country Park is home to stables operated by Kim Couglan and her staff who provide care of horses, teaching and horse events in the purpose built arenas and horse track.
