DECO, VINEYARDS AND TRAILS

Returning to the Hawkes Bay after a 21st Birthday (middle grandson) was an opportunity to explore Napier having already stayed in Hastings earlier.

Staying at the NZMCA Park in Eriksen Road Napier was great. This must be one of the best,  with lots of planting; space for over 200 Motorhomes or Caravans; a get together room; rubbish bins; water available and even a vegetable and herb garden. We met with Kevin and Sharyn, Magna and Henie for a catch up and share stories and knowledge most nights we were there. They provided some valuable information for our future travels South. The NZMCA park is right next to the bike trails for easy access.

CHURCH ROAD VINEYARD

One of the highlights was visiting Church Road for tastings and lunch (our main meal of the day) Superb food and wine and decor very French looking.

MURALS AND EAST PIER

Robyn and I loved walking East Pier to sample food and enjoy the Architecture there. Such a bustling area for ‘foodies’.

Walking around town and spotting the murals and History plaques on the self-guided walk was another treat.

Next journey the Waiarapa region
