Retirement and the plan

Robyn and Peter retired from jobs they loved in August 2021.

Robyn and Peter worked together in Recreation Facilities Management contracting to Local Councils to Manage Community Recreation Centres.

Robyn then worked for CCS Disability Action as a Recreation Officer initially and then as a Community Support Co-coordinator advocating for children and adults with physical disabilities. She retired after 29 years with CCS.

Peter changed professions to become a Tiling Contractor and then after several years was employed by several companies as a technical Tile Installation specialist before moving into Commercial, retail and Export sales. He worked for the Tile Depot group until retirement.

The plan

Robyn and Peter will travel indefinitely in their new ACM Motorhome around New Zealand and document their travels and stories on the journey. “We have not been everywhere, but it is on our list”.

Our four months in lock-down in Auckland living in the Motorhome has been a good introduction for life on the road. Learning from others who are already on the road and doing their thing has been helpful.

KARAMEA

Heading North to Karamea Leaving Westport for Karamea takes you on the only road north along the coast initially. We stopped half way on this journey at the Gentle Annie’s Campground. If you have not stayed here you will miss
