Whangamata-just surf?

POP-REID’S PLACE

What a great POP (Park over Property) this is in Whangamata where we stayed 7 nights close to Estuary and South end of the beach. There is parking for two RV’s and support vehicles at the Reid’s home.

Hook up to power and water and good shower available as well. For $12 per night we were happy to enjoy with other guests, Graeme and Carol in their Caravan. They are staying about a month. Thank you Dave and Janette, Graham and Carol for a great POP.

About 100m from this POP is the Estuary. We biked along the reserve and as we take our dog with us (on my cycle in a basket), we stopped to walk the estuary foreshore as well.

The Whangamata POP property is owned by NZMCA members, Dave and Janette Reid, who also love to travel in their bus.

KARAMEA

Heading North to Karamea Leaving Westport for Karamea takes you on the only road north along the coast initially. We stopped half way on this journey at the Gentle Annie’s Campground. If you have not stayed here you will miss
